    Hey guys,
Another way to tell them is to look at the cross bars of the swastika, the order of the arms is changed.

They also make some nice repro eagles on a heavy green coarse cotton. No originals are on that fabric. Will post a few eagles tomorrow. The key to remember is that original splinter backed eagles are rare and very expensive........tons of the repro splinter ones in Europe.

Gary, if I understand what you are saying, this is not a way to determine authentic eagles. WW II Luft eagles can have either arm of the swas. on "top."

Here's a new eagle. It is similar to one John posted at the beginning of the thread. I understand it is a type sometimes found on late-war tan/water smocks and field-div jackets. Does anyone have a sewn one to show ?

        Regards,
        Steve

Just noticed this one is tan , not olive. Any thoughts ?

Did you just get that one Steve? Was it with two others eagles?

I think it is olive green. Have one just like it, and one on a water pattern GD jacket. If it is the one I just saw last week, I thought it was olive. I could be mistaken.

Very nice! Cut from a Field Division tunic, note the seam under the eagle's wing.
