John, maybe it's my aging eyes, but I think I see some traces of camo on the fabric. Look to the left of the tail, it looks like some brown camo......to me at least.

The lines are either the twill construction (diagonal), or the unique coloration of the greunmeliert fabric (mottled).

A late-war thin-cotton subdued eagle still on the smock.

OK, I'll play too. Greunmeliert backed white eagle still on a smock.

                    Nice eagles John and Steve.

Here is a new one. Could be from either a FJ smock in water pattern, or a ground division jacket.

From you photo looks you have subdued eagle, as Steve's above, on that smock Tony. These are scarce so it's interesting how many we have posted here.

                          Unusual and nice bird Willi!

Here is one on a larger piece of splinter, let a better example than this one go some time back, kinda miss it And no Steve, this one is not new...

                            Hi John,

Mine is the subdued eagle on thin cotton. The light was not the greatest when I took the shot. It's much brighter than what it appears.

                            Thanks,
                            Tony

Thought is was subdued Tony, but wasn't sure how much was the lighting. Great eagle and smock! If you don't mind, what is the date?
                              Regards,
                              John

Nice eagle John, on a nice piece of splinter.

I suspect Tony's smock is going to be dated from 10-12/44.

I once missed a eagle like that that had been neatly cut off, I wonder where it went. RS had it.
