Marco! You are a living encyclopedia of that battle! Your study is a great source of knowledge!Thank You for that!

I've been on Monte Cassino on 65 anniversary. What I want to show You is a trailer of documentary production . It's gonna be ready in 2-3 weeks ( it's a "after work" job )

            Hello...
Perhaps this discussion started one year ago by John Hodgin, is interesting for all fans of military history. This being the period of the beginning of the battles for Cassino, and I wanted to bring it back to life. I hope I have done something agreeable.

                Ciao, Marco!
It is well worth reviewing again and even adding to it. A wonderful history lesson for newcomers and old hands alike.
                Thanks,
                Homer

Indeed Marco, and thank you! The battles in central Italy are among the most important of WWII and were not given the attention they deserve.

                  Best regards to all,
                  John

I'm reading the book "Monte Cassino" by Matthew Parker and it's fantastic!

Thanks to a fellow forum member for recommending this outstanding book.

Hello Marco, here is wishing you a wonderful Christmas and New Years.

Yes, Mr. Claus would look great wearing a Sumpf cap and coat! Doesn't he already have the black marching boots?

On a serious note, it would be nice to see how will Cassino be decorated for the Holidays. Perhaps you could post a photo for us near Dec. 25th.

We will remember all those who fought and suffered around Cassino during Dec. 43 and Jan. 44, both soldiers and civilians alike.

                          Best regards,
                          John

Also, this photo is backwards. Thought you'd like to know.

Ciao Marco! No, I'm not familar with this book, but will have to pick it up. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just a horrible battle and incredible what these men, and civilians, went through.

After reading Parker's book, I can certainly understand why veterans are not Gen. Clark fans.

It would be great, yet humbling, to visit Cassino one day.

If John want a photo of Cassino with Xmas Lights, I take a photo of Cassino with XMas lights...
                                Merry Christmas John
