        Ysto, thanks for the photo and information.

        I think what Arnad stated is logical; that he donated a helmet he was likely to have worn earlier in his career, and was kept at home.

                        Outstanding thread. I wonder if any of the lids the American paras have collected and are holding in that Normandy pic are some of the lids that are now owned and posted in pics on this thread. Sure looks to be possible.

                          I am sure there are, but I do not recognize any from the dozen, or so, FJR6 camos bought into the SoS years ago by a 101st veteran. They were all pretty rough and some had rust stained covers.

                          My FJR6 camo with cover came from the son of a 2nd ID (9th Infantry Regiment) veteran who picked it up at Saint Lo.
