L/58 --> Postwar Mark? Postwar Cross?

It is intersting indeed Darrell.
In fact it is the same discussion as the L/15-L15 crosses.

This cross came in a grouping through one of my German contacts.
He always has good stuff, and this group came directly from the realtives of the veteran.

To make it more confusing: it's non-magnetic.

A good friend of mine recently got exactly the same cross directly from relatives of the vet through one of his ads.

Mayby controversial, but I like non-textbook crosses.

I'm not sure we can really say that with 100% certainty (especially Souval). What I find confusing is why L/58 is deemed Post War (by some) and L58 is not. Other than L15 is there any other L* markings that belong to PreMay 1945 badges? I know Floch has used L11, but can't seem to recollect seeing that on a non-reproduction Deumer badge.

If I hadn't known where it came from, mayby I would have passed.

Souval is a minefield, yes.

I have asked Uwe, who posted the remark on the L/58 - L58 thread on the GMIC to explain why L/58 is post-war.

I think I saw an L11 stamp on a regular Deumer a while ago, but can't find the thread.....

Don't know if they mean that the company added the mark post-war, but someone else, to enhance the value.
This happens all the time.

Souval is particulary tricky, because the kept on producing for years after the war.....
