Postwar image of RKT General Emilio Esteban-Infantes. He was awarded the Knight's Cross on October 3, 1943.

The photo in question dates from the mid 50s.

I'm not sure General Emilio sure really be here, he sure ain't wearing his 57ers I love the fact that some of the Spanish just kept on wearing their Nazi era stuff anyway despite the post war sensibilities in Europe.

Would be interesting what the Spanish soldiers had done when they were in Germany on a visit?
That was a problem for them, for sure.

The Lange picture is great !!!

Is this a Steinhauer & Luck early 1960s with iron core?

This cracked me up !!! I have wondered this for years???? I've seen this and always wished I could get a closer look. My best guess is some hollywood made up junk or a Souval made RK & Oaks. I guess the was a shop that sold medals for vets some where on the Island ? Tom

I've read somewhere that this set of awards were stolen after his death... what's the current status?

Hello Sepp ! I read the same story, but never heard the status on the awards after that. It's a shame things like that happen ! Tom

Seems that its typical and sucks. We a an incident a few years ago now where an Aussie vet had his medals stolen on or before ANZAC day so he had nothing to march with. The Army came to the rescue and replaced them for him in the following weeks, but honestly, fancy stealing stuff from a living vet in thanks for his bravery in defending the country. Rant over. An amazing looking collection. It would be great if it turned up again.

I agree...Horst Neimack had his RK with Oaks & Swords ripped off also (his original war time ones) ! As far as I know they have never shown up. Tom
