      Ab 1939 nahm er am Polenfeldzug und am Frankreichfeldzug teil. Danach kämpfte er mit seiner Panzeraufklärungskompanie, oft hinter den feindlichen Linien, in Afrika und Russland, zuletzt in der Heeresgruppe Schörner. Für seinen Mut und seine Tapferkeit erhielt er das Ritterkreuz, das Deutsche Kreuz in Gold, das EK I, das EK II, das Afrikaband, die Winterschlachtmedaille und das Verwundetenabzeichen

                  Excellent photo's!
                  As usual, Uhlig is wearing his swastika cored RK, I wonder if he ever bought a 57er? Anyone seen any photo's of him wearing a 57 RK??

                    Hi Nigel, Saw him at a OdR reunion and he was wearing a 57 RK. They were VERY strict on "NO SWAS" rules. I know it was the one and only reason H.Rudel would never join the OdR. He refused to wear any but his 39 awards. He also use to say "far to many Army" members and not enough Luft. guy's. Tom
