Hello Guy's Just an interesting fact about Generalmajor Karl Herzog.....I made two visits to his home (Munich). He showed me his RK and it was a S&L first pattern core with a finished ring eye...a real beauty ! Then he showed me his other RK and it was a S&L first pattern core with un-finished ring eye...also a beauty. I asked him why he had two of them, and he said because he never recieved his RK at the time of award in April 45.

I think this is photo of Karl Herzog hasn't been posted here before, and it shows a great close-up on his Knight's Cross.

A very interesting case that surely falls under this thread: the history of former Wehrmacht officer Siegfried Müller, later a Mercenary in the Congo Crisis. He was often called "Kongo" Müller.

Müller always wore his wartime EKI on his uniform, so... here are the pics
