Thanks for your kind words David ... indeed, the EK is rivited ( 2 rivits, as far I can see - but impossible to take pix from ).
Also, here is a pic from the back ( nice & crisp )

Hi Mike, I guess its a matching case, the imprint from the cross can be seen on the lid ... and specially for you, some pix of the harware .

Today .... I got tempted in buying yet another 2nd pattern RK, but I sadly had to turn it down . Really, this is becoming an expensive hobby.
So, I decided to save my money, in case something else irresistable pops up .

This is the one who was tempting me soooo much : http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=344872

And it came in this little box .. has no push button, no hinges. Its held together by a piece of cloth inside.
I assume this to be late-war leftover stock ???

                      Hello

Thats a very nice new form KVK, and an early one as well The case certainly looks like one of the late war halbetui style cases. If possible, very carefully and gently prise the inner base (the bit the KVK sits on) out and see if there are any marks pressed into the cardboard base.

                      Regards
                      David

Hi David, I was pretty pleased to snap up this little gem. Cant remove the inner base, looks like its been glued against the sides.

Nice KVK with case! I have a similar EKI case that was also a leftover stock box that was made the same way. Can't help with the KVK without swords.

Bad news guys ... I got made redundant on Thursday, so all my efforts will now go in finding new employment ...
Wont be buying and posting for a while ( except the items already under way ), but just to give a rough idea of my current display unit ....

Before downsizing, its was more then 3x times what you are seeing now .
