Hi,
Over the years he has sold a few nice items, but the majority has been a load of c---.
I have no idea about this peice though, so unless you really know your stuff be very careful

These were often issued to SAS and airborne troops as they were involved in disarming the German army in that period. Nice one indeed.

"A GALVENISED METAL LINING" ...never seen that before, but it looks authentic.
The 2 webbing straps at the front are also a mistery for me.

I'm not sure if these were only for airborne troops, maybe for field hospital or such like.

I'm sure many of you saw the above helmet. I think the price was pretty good. Not a bargain, but it was an early helmet with Recce markings! And there was me thinking I had the only one

I think a lot of us were watching that one, Jack. I guess it all come down to whether the flashes are original or not. They are clearly a different size to the ones on your helmet.

BTW - Marcus Cotton owns another early Fibre-rim with Recce flashes. It was given to him by the vet himself , who had kept it in his garden shed . The vet escaped from Arnhem by swimming the Rhine . Now that is one I would love to own

Ahhh well Steve that's two possibly three then! The flashes look ok but I guess a close inspection is the only way to tell for sure.

Is marcus going to publish that one in his book?
