Seems a long time ago now that I bought a fibre rim helmet off eBay for £400.

There was a parachute regiment bd blouse at the Hartenstein mueum with padded shoulder titles, but it is a very uncommon practice.

          The ebay title is genuine.

                Hi Stuart,
But it Wasn't and none of his listings at the time were right, especially his Monte Casino Cross.

Can't see anything obviously dodgy with either B.D. and price for both seem 'fair' at the moment. The starting price for Signals set is about the sum of it's parts from what I can see and the R.A. Lowland Div. blouse looks like it has potential, but without really seeing it in the flesh it's hard to say, seems to be worth a punt though.

Thanks for the comment! The Lowland BD is most interesting to me because they fought in and around my hometown and the area where I grew up so I hope to add this one to my collection

I've just recieved close up pictures of the Lowland bd blouse. I have no doubt that all insignia are genuine. However, the printed Artillery titles and Lowland patches have been applied with a type of stitching I doubt was yet invented on WWII sowing machines. Also, the printed patches "sit" on top of the nap of the serge as if they were put on quite recently.

Please explain your thoughts.......what type of stitching?

I would've loved to get the jacket but I had some unexpected expenses coming inbetween so I couldn't go for it
Even re-applied, if they are all original badges than I don't see a problem by the way.

And thanks for the comments, much appreciated!!!

I haven't been able to find the technical term for it, but it is quite unlike the lockstitch, hemstitch and buttonhole stitch from those days.
