    Hi Paull

Very nice cap and tunic The addition of a leather sweat band is a nice touch. I have seen that before on another DAK M40 posted a few years ago on the forum.

Nice find, it matches your tunic perfectly. Though there were many Nachschub (transport) personnel in Africa it does seem to be one of the rarer Waffenfarbe you encounter. Here is an unissued example made by F. Weissbach / Glauchau:

Thanks for the compliment Mark G, I am sorry it took so long to show it to you but all my spare time is presently being soaked up by renovations to my house and at my age and the lousy weather here it has turned into quite a mission.. I hope all is going well with your house ...

Thanks also for all your kind comments, Mark T (yes you will get to see it in the hand), Pauke (I will when time permits take images of the pocket contents for you), Jacquest, Barry, Matt, Alfred.R and also a big thanks to OSS for posting the image of your unissued transport cap ...

              Cheers

                Hi Paul

Just outstanding transport tunic & M40, really nice

& OSS another nice Weissbach from the beehive cache i assume ?

Often overlooked by collectors but vital to the survival of the DAK. Here is a thread with another used named tropical transport M40, this time found in Italy

I apologize for the not so sweet pics but here is a pretty scarce ring. First one like it I have seen and I have absolutely no doubts about this one. It was found very recently around Koln... enjoy. Matt

                      Matt,

That is a beautiful ring and in wonderful used condition I have not myself come across this particular design and I am looking forward to seeing new images, thanks for sharing...

I have enclosed a larger image of the interior to the Halfer Transport cap as the Afrika man has marked his name just under the rear right hand grommet..
The surname "Pallas" is German but not a common one so I am wondering if anyone would know of a way to possibly find out more on this transport soldier ??

I long shot I know but I had to ask !

                          Very nice ring Matt

I took a picture of my French shirts today. Nice to see the colour variation between them showing the used/faded ones in the back and then the first one modified by adding loops for boards and metal buttons which is a nice touch.

                            Paul,

its a new one for me as well, but the engraving style is very typically German and it came out of the Koln area.... Its hands down one of the coolest ones I have ever owned, and a decent pile of DAK rings have passed through my fingers. Matt

During the remodeling of a bathroom in my house I discovered this old tattered scrap of newspaper in the wall which shows what appears to be a faded DAK field cap on one of the POWs in a labor detail:
