Hello guys! I am from Crete, Greece and my hobby is like everyone in here collecting WW2 stuff! So last summer i was at my village and i went for some relic hunting around the fields in Crete! I entered a half destroyed old barn and i found a M35 german helmet. The strange thing is that someone at someime has painted it with tons of silver paint. And i mean shining silver (my heart almost cryied when i saw it's condition). I took it and after removing tons of silver paint and ruining everything around me slowly slowly some sand-like paint started to appear! I was afraid to go on with the paint removal for not destroying the original colors! Now it has a nice faint sand theme on it and some black-rust color too. I just love it. Plus it has a crack on the top like it was hit with something very heavy!

New addition to the Sandpit bunker and something I have wanted for many years is this 1940 , 337 all matching K98. Even better I was able to aquire this thing of beauty today...my birthday after being in a collection for nearly 20 years. With it I was able to aquire an original and quite rare 1941 dated canvas dust cover in a neat olivey green tone . Perfect for a tropical display but of coarse not tropical persay.

                                Hi Greg,

That looks fabulous and exactly the way that I planned to display a rifle with a mannequin. Because of our laws here I don't want to buy a complete rifle so have been looking for just the rifle wood. I would like to replicate the barrel etc with wood and cover the breech with the canvas cover. I just have to find the wood first.

Here is a screenshot from a very early colour film. Note the rifle on the back of the soldier on the right of the screen (and his y-straps).

Once again Greg, a fantastice rifle and breech cover.

                                Mark
