Were these big rucksacks really used for carrying Potatoe masher or egg grenade boxes?

    Thx!
    hallo
NO. it was used to carry tropical uniforms - it's Luftwaffe suitcase for cloths, often used also by Heer.

        Mark G.,

Can we PLEASE have some more photos of your Pzr. Rgt 5 marked continental panzer tunic?

Also, gents I found a gorgeous SR 961 soldbuch on e-stand which is offered for a very reasonable price: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=349865 I already have one or I'd buy!

        Panzer cap stamp below.

        Enjoy your day gents.

              Chris,

In the pics the Pz. Gren cap appears to be a dark green for rifle regiment. I know you know your colors so im gonna have to chalk it up to my monitor or lack of light, but both caps look quite nice. Matt

                Hello,

Here's a color comparison with DAK grass green EM boards.

                  Correct Matt,
Definitely Rifle Rgt. and completely different from the strap (not 'board') piping.
                  Mark.

                    Hello,

Matt & Mark thank you for your insight. Your collections are truly fantastic!

I believe Pzr.Grn. regiments 69, 86, 105, 125, 115, 200, 361, 362, 433 and Pzr.Grn. Rgt "Afrika" wore grass green. According to Dal McGuirk, "Rommel's Army in Africa", p. 138 AND 139 (note 1) ISBN: 0 09 166450 0, Afrika panzergrenadier regiments wore grass green waffenfarbe in 1942 following an evolution from light green piping worn by rifle regiments in 1941 and earlier.

I have a number of DAK grenadier soldbuchs and it is interesting that the motorized rifle regiments were also redesignated as panzer grenadier regiments in 1942.

                    Neat stuff!

                    C.

I will see about taking some pics of the panzer wrap next weekend. I have a day to myself so will take advantage of it. The girlfriend usually keeps me busy for most weekends.
