    Scott,
you certainly have some wonderful items there. The boots are just so rare and desirable and that faded side cap is sensational. Thanks for showing us.
I did consider just collecting Panzer items from Afrika at one point but decided to collect both panzer and panzer grenadier. A few choice PzRegt5 pieces have me wanting to focus the panzer items on this Regiment.

Thanks again Scott and also thanks to all the contributors to this wonderful thread.

    Enjoy your Christmas

    Mark

P.S. I have been quite lucky recently and have just added a few Australian items to the collection from a gentleman who was at Bardia, Tobruk, Crete and Greece before going to the pacific. Not DAK but an adversary who was respected by the DAK.

I have always assumed it was the original eagle left in a pocket since the wear and fading is proportional to the other insignia.

The straps are a rare EM Panzer set acquired some years later. I assume the cloth band was a tropical "Ersatz" attempt for an NCO aspirant. The miss-match in fading is actually very typical of many uniforms seen in photographs.

Funny photo . Your belt with buckle are upside down. Overally Very nice and impresive panzer tropic collection.
I still dreaming about those high tropical boots and m40 tropical cap.

It is extremely rare that I get DAK items, but I recently got this beautyfull belt buckle, picked up at El Alamein, and painted in tan/pink. I posted more photos of it in the FJ section, but it hasnt aroused any interest there...

Hello everyone, bringing the thread back to the top (where it should be pinned I maintain) will be some items i have picked up in the 08 year. Not many of the super large scale and expensive items but some cool ones. NZMARK was kind enough to say he would post the pics for me. Be a nice variety of pith shields (yes more than the ones i posted at the beginning of this thread) a nice 2nd model pith with originally applied kriegs shields, a m40 cap with replaced insignia, and some dak medals, a award document (framed, thank you for that dion!). Hasn't been a particularly good year for me and dak stuff but hope you will enjoy. Good luck to everyone in the 09 hunting season!!! And as always if you guys have pith shields and they need a home look no further!!! Matt
