[QUOTE=Unfront;2471778]Here is my small Luftwaffe Afrika set up. The pants are the later model. I could use a shirt but have not found one......yet. (I do not normally keep this set up near the fire place. I just put it there while I was re-arranging my den.)

Very nice set up!Please can you post some close shots of the boots?Thank you!!

DAKCollector1, Thank you. I have been searching for a decent Luftwaffe jacket for years. I finally found this one a while back and was pleased with it. Though it looks great on the mannequin, there is some salty-ness to it. But not too much. The eagle is original to the tunic. Overall it is a "been there" tunic. The pants however, spent the war on the shelf...nice condition, but no history.

Der_Stahlhelm I will post photos of the boots as soon as I can. However I am away from home for the next week. But when I get back, I will gladly do so.

What material are your tunic and pants made out of? Are they the lightweight styles?

Are you asking me? If so, both tunic and pants are of the heavy weight material I believe.

Another collector in my area has a set of lighter weight pants (my only point of reference)...They are much lighter than mine.

Sorry for not clarifying but yes, I was asking about your stuff. If you could post more pics of your cap and of any markings inside your tropical trousers I'd appreciate it--

This thread just gets better and better, lets see some more...
Can anyone show more DAK shoulder boards ?

Bruce can you post more pics of your tunic ? Looks cool in your display.

                And welcome Upfront,
very nice LW display, look forward to more friom you...really enjoy your tunic too, salty items are much better than never used and just sitting in storage. Its the story/history....of someone.

Interesting saharan stuff too. Not sure if ss items belong in a DAK thread, however maybe its ok on WAF as we all know the difference, jmo.

                best regards
                Tim

Tim: Thank you for the welcome. Yes, sometimes a little salt makes it taste better.

Here are some photos of my DAK shoulder boards. Since both boards of each set are exactly the same, I turned one over to get a back side view.

Here is a Luft M40 with some tropical wash remaining. The helmet itself is in good condition. Perhaps this was a helmet that was in Afrika but then made it up to Italy....who knows. The shell is marked Q64.

Very nice Helmet & boards, thanks for posting. Really like the yellow piped, are these boards early or later ? from construction /materials ? Thanks everyone.

                          Tim,
                          They would be LW straps.
I like the remains of the pink paint on the lid.
