Actually the first tunic is the German made version of the sahariana manufactured specifically for the SS

        DAK uniform

Here is my DAK uniform collection. The lace up boots and MP 40 pouches are reproductions, all else is original.

I hope that I am not going off topic but I want to share with you these two tunics recently received as gift from the girlfriend of a friend of mine who had in her family since the end of war.The SS tunic seems never issued and the other one would be probably an SS fatigue tunic?
Italian tropical tunics like these were used by many units, as long as there're no SS insignia originaly attached to the tunic they can represent anything.
Many Luft unit also used these, witout any insignia these are just average Italian tropical jackets IMO.

                      Jos.

Here is my small Luftwaffe Afrika set up. The pants are the later model. I could use a shirt but have not found one......yet. (I do not normally keep this set up near the fire place. I just put it there while I was re-arranging my den.)

IMHO this tunic is undoubtedly SS and german made, specifically it’s a second model due first had some differences about upper pockets.
During the late seventies, a discrete number of them were find in a warehouse in Tuscany (italy) and usually went to be privated of lower pockets to reissue them for civilian use ( ), that’s why yours it’s a real nice find!!!Many compliments!
