I agree the tunic is the same (basic tunic).

If I remember correctly the group come from Paul Jarvis ( Relics Of The Reich ).
Founded in Germany several years ago.

This set was posted on this forum maybe 7-10 years ago or longer by a collector who bought it. It is an untouched set. The owner is lucky.

Looks to me that the nitpickers are jealous.

eagle is on different height, or? A miracle how something like this can happen. But propably the light is playing a trick.
                Right Brian.

I find it incredible that people commenting on this thread send me private messages saying they know the tunic was rebadged post war. But lack the integrity to post that here. That is the problem with this hobby all the behind the scenes secrets. What if the owner doesn’t know this ? It is important information especially if purchased by a fellow collector. I remember someone telling me one of my tunics was rebadged by George Peterson. I contacted George and he remembered the tunic and where he got it completely intact, the story was confirmed by another collector who remembered it’s discovery. This uniform grouping has been around awhile now suddenly because it is offered publicly on this forum people want to cut it down ? Why ? From experience , some of the tunics of mine that people condemned here ended up in their friends hands to resale at triple what I paid. Think about that.

The owner was advised some days ago with names involved in order to check the story and have a personal opinion.
If i would have the intention you wrote i would send pm before sold.
The set is still all original, a true find, a real incredible set . Tabs are different than pics. If he wants to check voices he has also the name and can reply to pm if wants other names.
                    Plain at simple.

Let's try and get this right before an unbelievably nice untouched tunic gets totally destroyed yet again on an online forum.

First of all, the collar tabs ARE the same as in the photo...EXACTLY the same!
Look at the rear of the collar and you can see they are originally machine stitched onto the jacket. The pips are then pushed through the tab and collar, and by looking at the way they exit the rear of the collar you can see they have some "play" in them...they can be moved a millimetre or two around either way.
The pips can move, the collar tab can't. It is in exactly the position shown on the original pic.

                        Next, the sleeve eagle height.....

The sleeve eagle is in EXACTLY the same position as shown on the original picture.
Look closely at the original picture and you will see that the sleeve is lower than the bottom of the tunic when worn. In the current picture of the tunic, it is laying flat and the bottom of the sleeve sits at the bottom of the tunic.

No mystery, if the sleeve was pulled lower for the current picture, then the eagle would be at the exact same height.

As for the buttons, I agree with Robert that they look silver in the original picture, where as the buttons currently on it are painted.

                          Big deal!

He may have had the buttons changed to subdued ones 5 minutes after the picture was taken? Who would ever know for sure.

I believe the buttons on it now where there pre '45.

Maybe the current owner can tell us if they look like they were replaced recently or if it looks as if the stitching for the buttons has been there forever and a day. Based on the rest of the tunic, I'd like to think they're the original pre '45 buttons on it.

I HATE this cr@p where a totally believable tunic is shot down in flames over the internet. If I had the money I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Buttons could be replaced at some point. Stitching don't look professional like rest of the tunic, but doesn't seem to be recent. As far as pips, how do you know if original owner wasn't removing them when he had tunic cleaned/washed (they go through collar). Also there is a time frame of 6 months between when original pictures were taken and owner's death.

I also would not care for the buttons, rest is pending on the view. I see some collector like above have not much knowledge what is possible with this or that. Reality is reality, but we know for some not. Good luck with collecting!
