This grouping appeared in other threads here in the past posted by previous owner, but since I am going to list it on the Estand for sale I am posting it again with detailed photos for the record and for a possible discussion.
Untouched named group belonging to the SS obersturmfuhrer Arthur Mongerbrod. In short he was a Police officer who transferred to Waffen SS in February 1943 also as an officer. He was serving in the Flak Unit of Das Reich division, most likely took part in Kursk offensive and later was killed in action on Mius front from a shrapnel head wound on early August 1943.
Tunic is of Police type, which he had tailor made in 1942. Consistently the name tag shows "Ltn" rank. After the transfer to SS, tunic was converted and rebadged for SS use and it remains as such to this day. There are two period photos within the group showing obersturmfuhrer Morgenbrod wearing this tunic in exact same configuration as today.
In addition group consists of officer belt with aluminum Overhoff buckle, photo album and loose pictures documenting his family, SA, Police and SS service, ID booklets and Wehrpass. There are also his promotion documents, document confirming his transfer to SS, letters written to his wife by his commanding officer after his death and others.
