I will see you in person at the SOS.

Please post the numbered section in the pullover thread as it sounds like an interesting addition.

      Looking forward to it. I think I'm set-up at M41 - 42.

      Here it is below.

Oh God - am I going to regret showing this stamp now?

Well you can rule out its the size.........
But its odd ball so it maybe.

Could be a sewing lot number on the batch.

I will look at my one and see if its there.,

I think this is just a matter of where this part of the pattern is on your smock. I think if you look at my pic and try to match the small area of printing I'm showing to your smock you'll find it. I'm confident.

Tomorrow I'll take it off the torso and look closely at both sides to see if there are numbers anywhere else.

Here's what he looks like now. My SOS mission will be another set of Y-straps, belt & buckle, Mp-40 pouches, and M-43 cap. He'll be a full-size mannequin with a new head by the end of the month. The belt & buckle on him comes off of this guy for the pic. Falaise August '44.

Either that or cloth bolt numbers,I could never figure out which but I have seen these stamps in quite a few wool tunics and trousers.

                    Example on a HBT wrapper.

Agree Glenn. I have numerous Heer tunics and trousers with numbers in all sorts of odd places.

Owen - yes, he will have trousers as well. I'm still agonizing over just exactly what impression I'm going to create. The good thing is there's lots of flexibility when it comes to trouserss based on time of the year, area of operation etc.. I'm a stickler for detail so I'll make him look right.

You can add any trouser as none is wrong.

It will be fun to see where you go with this guy.

Here's a couple of crappy quality pics I just found on Pintrest of all places.

They show SS-Obersturmfuhrer Ludwig Baumgartner while at Flossenburg. I'm not saying this is the style of my "K" tab, more showing it to prove that they were worn there. It looks like he's wearing an M-36 style tunic as well.

His tab looks like the vertical bar that forms the left edge of the tab lacks the turn at the foot that makes it parallel with the right foot. If I am interpreting that correctly that means it does not conform to the Weitze example, example in Angolia's Cloth Insignia of the SS, or Beaver's book.

                            The hunt goes on.

For the tailor, so the correct single pieces were sewn together. I have such numbers in jumpsmocks.

teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
