Scary! But I have a question to one who have A. a known Dachau original, B. a known Dachau repro, C. a UV light and D. a camera. Referring to this post again:

P.S. the one thing they can't fake is period material. Real SS tabs stay black under UV light = fakes turn a brownish color.

Indeed! Would like to know. On the other hand, what if it is Original period black wool?
Viva speaks about comparing stitching, but how am I supposed to do that without knowing which one is fake vs Original? I only got one of each...
Which designs are effected? The whole Dachau/volunteer range?

Can you help us with a photo taken in a dark room, a photo where we can see the difference in this black vs. brownish colour? If this is a good give-away a UV light is indispensable for a quick decision.Last edited by Dmv; 03-10-2017, 08:44 AM.

The original tabs and sleeve adlers I have all stay black under UV light, fakes turn a redish brown color. Look at any modern black clothing you have under UV light and you will see the redish brown color to look for. The color and brightness is unmistakable.
P.S. it will not photograph so you must UV the item in person.
