My bad, I was referring to the double-armed swaz.

Has the entire foreign volunteer tab line been corrupted or just the 2-3 that Regen has posted?

I am truly impressed by your important work and dedication Regen. To send items to the eternal abyss of fakes and reproductions when they belong there is important in this collecting field (just as important as rescuing originals from this abyss when they don’t belong there ). I have a question: Do you know in which period the self-actualizing swindler completed his work with these reproductions? (like maybe month and year). Then it will be easier to separate good Dachau hoards from bad hoards.

      Important question:

I see Regen – thank you. And this important question from Manalishi: Has the entire foreign volunteer tab line been corrupted or just the 2-3 that Regen has posted?

Have you revealed other versions than the tabs posted here? But I understand you must be very careful revealing details and secrets in public. It is great to have a Sherlock Holmes on this forum

I cant disclose all details publicly. it is good that you understand- why.
but you can not worry- these fakes will die at this forum
I open a secret of fakes to some participants of a forum(to whom I trust)- Bob Hritz, David Stossgruppe etc.
            everything will be OK

Will this reflect the market value? Reminds me about the TK ring market.

So is a potential collector of Dachau tabs supposed to disassemble every tab in order to determine authenticity?!? Unless I missed something, it seems like it is kind of like a doctor killing the patient in order to beat the disease.

Excuse my ignorance in this field, I am just trying to learn this new area. Can tabs be disassembled and be put together again? I thought the stitching would prevent disassembly. I am just trying to learn, sorry for the newbie questions.

And what are we supposed to do with a black light at a show when it comes to SS Dachau-found collar tabs? Politely ask the seller if I can rip it apart to peel it open like a banana so I can backlight the backing?

These are not copies, these are near perfect counterfeits, and they are the death-bell for collecting this pattern of insignia. What's next on this bastards counterfeiting agenda? Early war Runes, vertical Totenkopf? At one time I could spot a replica SS Dachau collar tab from three meters away. These, I admit, I cannot tell, and it infuriates me that someone would make these for the sole purpose of profiting by producing near-perfect counterfeits. I have felt physically ill since this thread opened and Re broke this fraud wide open.

The bullion tabs etc. especially Runes, have become so contentious (five will say and five will say ), that I have stopped buying bullion Runes. I think the time has come for me to throw in the towel. After all these decades of collecting and study and learning, if I cannot tell if a tab is original from a counterfeit, even as they lie side-by-side, its time for me to leave.

I guess great minds think alike. Paraphrasing Leslie's Nielsen in "Airplane"....."It looks like a bad day to...quit sniffing glue. It looks like a bad day to..... start collecting Dachau tabs". Yikes, I better go back to the safer world of helmet collecting (camo fakes and Champagne runes not withstanding).

Are the knowledgeable tab collectors convinced that these are, in fact, fakes?

Colleagues let's be realistic. How many years after WW-2 ? All dealer stores full tab of SS I'm sure if we start digging deeper it appears that the experience accumulated by generations of collectors is the dogs under the tail.Panic is certainly not worth it, you just need to be very careful. The theme touched on that REGEN only the tip of the iceberg IMO.

Walter, the stitching does absolutely nothing in regards to the tabs construction, they are simply glued together.
