    very, very nice tunic. i had to open the thread in pc to spot the olive green!

    M42 for 41 and 37
    52 seen also in m37
    Alois Heisse (not a number but a contractor) for sahariana, m36, m37, m41, allg. black coats, allg. black tunics

                    The back side of the tunic. Note the direction of the camouflage pattern.

                    In almost all of the original tunics I have owned or examined over the years you will see the pattern mirrors itself but going in the opposite direction.

                    Focus your eye first on the seem going straight down the back of the tunic.
                    Then look at the pattern to the left and right of the seem. If you study it long enough you will be able to see how the camo pattern flows. This is the result of how the bolt of material is cut by the sewer to make the back side. I will explain this in more detail with illustrations later on in this thread.

                          Closeup showing detail of the button key hole and the porcelain button.

                          Note how there are two different colored threads woven together to make the button keyhole.

                          Also the khaki colored lining is the same used throughout the entire uniform.
                          So far we have seen it used on this tunic for the lining to the pocket flaps and the hanger loop.
