I already PM'd Blackadder about that fact since he PM'd me...there is no solid DR connection it appears,
but they are still digging in an effort to make their case...hoping for an exotic DR cuff title case...or backpedaling...
The submitted proof, the DR page that he posted has no value, shows nothing...TP! Hence the lowered asking price now.
    Good call!

Interesting thread and subject matter nevertheless. Just a botched restoration done in the 80's in my view...(no internet)
but that is just an opinion of course! At least we got the tag (original based on the way it's written by a Belgian soldier as I explained)
and unit ID now firmed up! Wiking all the way!
An interesting project nevertheless of an ID'd freiwilligen uniform!!

I thought watching my wife make bread pudding was fun.

A lot of work can go into making bread pudding and it takes care of the stale bread problem. Stale bread having lost freshness, effervescence,
        or palatability...

The palatability of this uniform 'as presented" was in question...but the "effervesce" gage was off the chart I feel, hence the high thread visit count
        and participation!

Wow, our recipe is a little different and more simple but many people seem to love making things really complicated and clouding reality as well as drawing lines all over the place which usual leads to a cake that tastes like crap. I like Bob's recipe.

Drawing simple lines (not just underlining for highlighting purposes to make a point, but also to direct somebody's attention to an area of interest in an effort to speed things up)
CAN in fact result in a VERY desirable and collectable end result! May I present to you as a gift Picasso's famous "Wiener Dog" (1957) Feel free to hit the "print now" button! .
My knowledge btw is not limited to Militaria! (nor is yours as an archeologist/excavator specializing in the Mayan period if I am not mistaken). Pretty Cool profession!! (US/MX)

            In regards to the "clouding" matter...the only clouding that I was able to detect in this lengthy thread was obvious visual clouding;
as a blatant waffen farbe discrepancy ; Inf/Art : was (1) simply ignored and (2) NOT in the man's record...So why not question it? Why not address it?

As usual I can feel the love already Johnny or is it a simple case of "Ego clash" which can be defined as a problem emerging between two people due to their conflicting egos!
OK you win, I have a much much smaller ego! Microscopic in size actually! Not Indiana Jones in size...but that goes with the territory, not a problem!! I understand!
I am just a simple guy who enjoys the hobby as well as participating in such threads in an effort to resolve mysteries (with frankly pretty decent input I feel..but I do tend to drift
a little, I agree on that part! I give you that ! Nobody's perfect! Anyway the 41 "friends" count on WAF and growing must mean something!

                Bread Pudding

That bread pudding recipe is awesome. Then followed by a Picasso... a perfect day, what next...a Dürer?

Pretty awesome, yes I agree! I always aim to please!
So if we're straying from the subject matter like Johnny's original post on bread pudding well lets go all out!
Here Albrecht Durer's famous "praying hands" ! (your wish is my command!)

or just pray not to stray! Hey that rhymes! I certainly did not start "straying"!
( = to deviate from the direct course / topic matter) Done with that!

Should this show the seriousness of the forum? I was hoping to learn here but instead I see a thread being ruined by 2nd hand humor. Was excpecting more here to be honest.

Ah what the heck... lets go full bore in a totally different direction shall we?
My Durer's favorites are his portraits from the 1500's. (I am not so much into his religious and animal drawings...but nice contribution Herr Doctor!)
This one is from 1514! It is Durer's brother.
Some of Durer's works reminds me of Wolfgang Willrich the Third Reich artist...(this one from 1939) These were drawn 425 years apart!!!
Note the similarities (lips) and even the same way of signing/dating...I am pretty convinced that Wolgang Willrich was inspired by Durer's works!

The big guns have spoken (by no means do I pretend to be one btw) and they have moved on! I think the uniform discussion stalled quite a few posts back when no conclusive evidence was ever provided about this officer transferring from Wiking to Das Reich...(inf) It's just not in the record even though it was mentioned in the sales thread (justifying the DR cuff title). Still waiting for that....(with pop corn only, not a martini drinker) but I am not holding my breath
(the selling price already dropped because of the pointed out discrepancies ... Makes sense!)

and the DR cuff title authenticity discussion is also dead...Conclusion on that: those in the know, know, those not in the know...who knows? Back to Durer?
