Here is my original ring for study. It is not stone mint, but close.
It was awarded to a captain in the Waffen-SS. My friend purchased it from the daughter of the vet that brought it home about 35 years ago and then he sold it to me when I first started collecting.

              Has the "ring" of authenticity.

That is really a nice looking ring. Of all my items, my ring is the only items that I would enver sell. It is a 34 dated. I tend to like the early rings as they were worn form start to finish. Ron

as others said already: too many fakes and or threats of fakes in last year to two years.
It is a logical correlation to assume.

My own 2 cents: older known rings(collector provenance of being prior to this era of threatening fakes) will be in high demand in a little while. I am sure the dealers watch for such rings to snatch up fast for "the futures market."

Im not a ring guy but I have a very worn early production authentic SS TK ring acquired "before this present era of fakes" and had it signed off in certificate as real by Boyle and others.
I have no worries it would sell with all my pre-2009-2010 provenance-if I wanted to sell.

That's the reason why I wont be buying one real soon.

                      Hi Chris,

Thank you for sharing pics of your ring - it can hardly get better than that!

Why can't old rings be faked as well as the newer ones?

Thanks for the compliments, guys! It's a shame that people are crippling the interest in these great items. These rings are really about the neatest of all of the SS collectibles, IMO, especially with all of the story behind them. I just hope that other collectors will continue to research them and to learn how to be above all of the forgery and fraud out there because I still do not believe that there is a perfect fake anywhere.

I absolutely agree with your statement - Gahr offered an outstanding quality!
Studying and comparing these exclusive gems is a must for anybody seriously interested in purchasing one of these nowadays.
Here is another Gahr jewelry piece - with direct Holocaust connection as well.

Only by examining these authentic pieces in hand and via studying good pics of them one can really make up his mind about the working methods whithin the Gahr company - and to be able to sort out the fakes.

Here for comparison a period article which also depicts - among other extraordinary pieces of Gahr jewelry - this brooch.
The outward appearance and structure of the surface is exactly identical.
