    Honor Ring Prices

    Seems like these ring's prices are going down now. I've seen several rings lately that suggest that the prices are droping to pre-Gottlieb prices finally. Here's a nice ring that would have sold at much higher prices a couple of years ago.

    That is a nice looking ring. You should buy it.

        These will always be collectable. Regardless of what others say about rings not being as collectable or desireable, are only trying for an angle at getting them for lower prices!
        They are one of a kind items and will continue to be collectable.

          The only thing that I see dropping, is the ability to find a stone mint original TK ring for sale at any price. Yes, this ring is nice and is reasonably priced, but if you want to see one bring 12-15K, it's either got to be mint or very special in regard to it's recipient.

            I agree. Recipient is a key factor in price.

              Several "mint" rings are available now. Here's one that's not going anywhere at that price.

                Any idea as to a basic price range for one that has been heavily worn?

                  HR's don't seem to be trendy at this point, who knows why that is. I had a very worn example years back.

                  But here's a nice example with price reduced;

                    getting redundant a little..

                    IMO famous name rings will always command high prices regardless of condition. Pig nose rings are almost virtually impossible to detect from fakes now , thus the ones who manufacture and sell them, have ruined their own market, and consequently price structure has hit a soft spot, due to overzealous flooding of these bogus rings, and the trust being so breached, leaves pig nose types alone and flat , and dropping by the week.This fact has many seeking only vet found rings now of the early style , and with provable provenance, or they must buy from the dealers with 0 unhappy customers, and from non controversial dealers , as buying has to have a trusted source with a virtually impeccable reputation, or trust is not there. The history of the man , with a name that is less common but honored by many awards for bravery like close combat fighting ,will always have a private line of collectors waiting for it to hit the market again, But what a minty condition ring will sell for now, is beyond me,since they being mint in the first place is scarey,and as a result people are holding back to see if prices are going to drop before laying out the bucks, so I guess it's whatever one can get, where IMO a very worn combat ring that has been there especially through the russian campaign talk more to me than minty ones do,as how can anybody wear a ring every day for years, and still have virtually no wear. I think as gold drops , so will nazi items, and only the top famous named items will never drop in demand or price where certain items faked too heavily could take a lesson from the Debeers family.Until we stop the faking , the glutinous faking itself will eventually implode the whole hobby into itself eventually....that is if the greedy fakers cannot get a handle on their greed...the demand will dry up and they will move to a different product to flim flam the unsuspecting with. These type of people who ruin business around the world in all kinds of products never seem to get it, all they see is dollar signs...and because of that , they really don't give a hoot.

                      Perhaps some new collectors feel the integrity of the rings on offer has been damaged by Mr Gottlieb's forray into the scene and are keeping their powder dry ?

                        Of course there are plenty of good "pig nose" fakes out there, but I would love to see one that is as you say, "undetectable." Can you guys post some of the best fakes here? The only way to help the market, is to get things out in the open and solve the problem by teaching collectors how to spot these fakes so that they do not have to simply rely on someone else's so-called expertise to make a ring real for them. So, if anyone can post some killer fakes here, let's get a study started.

                        I'll post a few myself, ASAP.

                            Here is the big bad fake that started all the fuss. It's still the best casting that I have seen, but certainly not perfect.

                              Also, the Walter ring on Craig's site is nice, but is not mint.
