Apart from the wreath issue ive mentioned, the teardrop suspension ring on originals was soldered together at the lower smaller end and the not the larger top end, as this one shows.

Jump ring is incorrect as well.

Nice reproduction but that is all.

A known fake the amateurish, spindly lettering on the reverse along with the wreath binder and the severe pointed end of the suspension loop are the most obvious bad points.

We all tend to believe this medal is a fake. But my question is: WHY?
We consider good only 2 types:

But we know that in period catalogs there is the evidence that P&L produced these medal with a round ring exactly like the one showed here.

My question is: is someone able to show us WHY this is a fake? The comparison with other known patterns is absolutely incorrect, because we can't compare for example a GAB of Karneth with one of Frank and Reif.
And: if this is a fake, can someone show an original SS long service medal produced from Petz & Lorenz?

I remember another case in which a Petz & Lorenz medal was considered fake and after some years we discover it was good.
