If we compare the so called Karl Wolff style eagles these vary greatly within the same style. I am sure an animation would be really interesting for these. These are in a classic style and done in a rather crude way. I have loaned some different images of eagles from this forum for educational purpose. If any complaints I will ask for removal.

Again, just to try to explain variations for hand embroidered eagles, yet in the same style, and wear etc plays also part.

I have seen once a loose SS mess dress eagle where the black paper protection was mostly gone and white or better cream backing/gauze was clearly visible. In regards for cufftitles, I have seen also there different colors for backing. For my part I would not put a question mark behind eagles that have a white/cream gauze backing when the rest is OK as well.

I am far from perfect but I did make a study of these when I was collecting them. An advanced collector of these eagles gave me a bit of an education. With the swastika smooched in the wreath I can see why many people would think it was original. From what I see on the micro level I do not see any of the signs I would expect to see on an original. I would love to inspect it in hand and even use a black light, but I am sure it would prove to be bad.

When magified it is clear that the Eagle in question has an Unterlagen. It is the easiest to see at the right wing tip.

I have been given the information that it does not glow under a black light.

What does it do under black light? Send me a PM if you know.

Sorry I dont see the unterlagen please can you point it out...the two fake Eagles I posted also do not glow under blacklight so that is not a determining factor of originality.

I see bullion cord sewn over off white cloth threads...which is the way this one I am posting was made. This Eagle looked real until I examined it in hand and found no paper or cardboard unterlagen and the bullion was too tight unlike originals.

I dont know Felix maybe...youre right I do see something but I cant determine that its an unterlagen.
