Interesting the office is not WSS but SS u. Pol. Dienstelle Elsace.

Recruitment and enquiries at either an office of the (W-SS) SS or Polizei Station is not abnormal if it was shown either way IMHO.

The "Ergänzungsamt der Waffen-SS" (Waffen-SS reinforcements) was a branch of the "SS Hauptamt".... therefore recruitment can and would be conducted at already set-up offices of the 'SS' and was not therefore necessary to list these places specifically as W-SS offices.

Now ive gone and confused myself.....

        Never said it was.
Just said that was interesting, since usually inside the Reich the Ergänzungsamt der WSS and the SSPF had different duties, never seen a SSPF office used for gathering WSS recruits.
BTW, I don't get the picture: beside the fact that's a foreign office, it's anyway a WSS one.

I dont know why I am even still trying to justify the grammatical omission of the word 'Waffen' or even the letter 'W' for that matter..... The picture says it all.

              Interesting.
As I suspected the croatian shield is present on the sleeve also (the Heer\Polizei type, with the word "Hrvatska" on it).
This poster was very likely dedicated to the Deutsche-Kroatischen Polizei Regiment also, beside the "Hrvatsku SS-Diviziju" (Prinz Eugen, Kama and very likely Handschar too).

Notice the OrPo eagle on the Reichsflagge, you just don't see this that often.

Is this taken from a larger picture?

Thank Max for sharing the croatian Poster. Who sell it?

I just saw this, very interesting. You are also correct, under a) it states "Croatian Volunteer SS Mountain Division" and b) German "ordnungpolizei" in Croatia.

                                poor Jean

That's great. A comic styled recruitment ad about poor Jean Valljean.
Gets caught stealing bread to feed his hungry family and is ordered to
report to the SS recruitment officer. Jean gets second chance to redeem
                                himself on Russian front.
Thanks for posting this interesting tale.
