Mine not be a cheapy from this guy then... although I did get mine relatively cheap along with the Wallonie poster (Pretty much what I was prepared to pay for the Walloon poster on its own - low-balled an offer).
I had two to choose from, one that was from a vet although this was framed it had quite a bit of water damage and was stapled into the frame quite some time ago as there was a fair bit of rust on the backing.
I chose the better conditioned of the two...
What size were the ones being sold for 15-20 Euro? Did they have the huge white border around them?
Cheers.

THANKYOU....! Very much appreciate someone revealing who this artist was.
So this war correspondent (Kriegsberichter) was an adept artist also, its a beautiful work.
I looked further into the German text of the advertisement on the one I purchased and it mentions it was one of only 2 that he still had in his personal possession - having said that, I totally agree with those that say, "buy the piece, not the story".
Thankyou again for clarifying who Van Immerseel was.

SMF don't exist anymore so you can only find them on local fleamarkets or by vets. They are post war made by Frans Van Immerseel (ex Flemish Kriegsberichter soldier).

Just found some more information on Mr. Van Immerseel.
SS-Kriegsberichter Frans van Immerseel, was before the war artist and graphic designer, he designed posters for political organisation and events. He was Militant in the Dinaso and joined the Waffen-SS in 1941. He served in the SS-Frw.Standarte ‘Nordwest’ untill this unit was merged with the Frw.Legion ‘Flandern’, where he served as Bildberichter and Zeichner. He served with the Legion during the battle at the Wolchow Kessel, and made some posters and brochures for the Werbung of the Legion.
Does anyone have any wartime photographs of Van Immerseel? I would love to see them...Even post-war would be interesting.
Cheers.

I'm still trying to find a photo of Ottomar Anton.
For one of the major SS propaganda designers, the guy must have been very camera shy.
Anyone ever seen a photo of him?
