Thanks for getting back to me.
There is a good chance I will see it in the next couple months and will photograph it then. I can send you the photos at that point if you want. Do you personally know any collectors that have these palm zelts in their collections?

Hi Petr,
I haven't seen such buttons before on period zelts, however, if you look at the thread that was used to sew the buttons to the zelt the idea comes to mind that the buttons are replacements and that the buttonholes were repaired. It may also be that these are the very late war style zelts that didn't have any buttons and buttonholes when fresh from the factory and that someone added them at a later stage? The zelts are definatly period...about the buttons I can't tell...?
