6x30 Police

Decided to add some of my binoculars to this thread as not much activity lately.

First up is a early Police Marked Rutka Rathenow binocular. This contract is in the same serial range as the SS death head marked glasses. I have seen fewer of the Police marked glasses. Condition is not great. Shows lots of wear.

There is no such thing as a DAK binocular , the description as such is merely a sales pitch by sellers and a generally mistaken belief that "sand coloured" binoculars are "DAK" issue.

Well, okey, but binoculars used in Afrika campaign had to be painted in some "sand" colors i think. Just like the other items. I think Gelbbraun RAL 8000, or this collor was used onlly on vehicles?

I honestly have no idea as to the use of the colour in respect of vehicles, but you will find "sand" coloured and black covered binoculars in Africa in pretty much equal numbers.
The "Africa" description stands pretty much with that of the "Panzer "binocular and the "U-Boat binocular" .
