Hello Guys,

Gene, for sure not a postwar piece, they look slightly different. I dont have a name for it but it should be in some manual or something. I am told it was used to send messages to the front, you would pull the fuze and red smoke would come out, making it easier to retrieve.

I think there is a photo showing one in the Imperial War Museum.
