    Granatwerfer 34 8CM Mortar

    Hello Guys,

I stumbled on this today on a Militaria fair and I couldn't leave it... I looked at it
and it looked at me and it was love at first sight You know what I mean, right?

It's in semi restored condition and I'm planning to restore it completely.

Would standard green or sand yellow be the best color for this one?

Also, does anyone know where I can find the double feet standard + aiming device?

And what do you think about it guys? Feel free to show yours!!!

    Best regards,

    Floris

Do you perhaps have a pic of your tube and plate Patrick? For comparison...

                      Just Restored

Just got this one back from the man who restored it last week. I had a green optics box and green optics. The baseplate and original tube that I have are dated 1941.

Nice one Michaelangelo! Do you have a picture how it looked before restoration?

Could you perhaps post some pictures of the markings on your tube? Mine has
a thick layer of paint and I want to look for markings but I don't know where...

                          Markings

                          Hello,

The markings on the tube come in a least two different sizes and are done on the tube above the ball. The large print is about an inch high. The markings on the baseplate are on top and may be covered with paint. The is a WaA on each fin of the part that sits on the ground on my early base plate. I have not put anything on the markings of my tube because I wanted it to look like a combat gun and not a collector's gun.

Here's a small update on the renovation, I've just painted it dark green which
looks thousand times better than how it was before (light green and yellow).

I already found a source for a bipod and sight so they will be coming soon

Can someone tell me the exact measurements for the white stripes on the tube please?

I don't understand why you ovverpaint it ?

yellow was an original paint !!

and under green there was an original yellow too
                              you should remove green paint.

now value of this set is 1/3 less than before
