Four Folgore paratroopers out on field exercise. Of note is the MG 42, K98 and Italian grey camo smocks with Italian M29 camo covers also a
German water patern smock n the paratrooper in the foreground.

Look at his helmet cover. It does not seem to be the Italian camo material.
Is it a tan one with stains or maybe an Italian Camo bleached out only leaving some darker pattern spots or is it something else.

It doesn't seem to be the Italian M.29 camo material because these were
tailored using the reverse side of that cloth. They exist also with alternate
sections camo and reverse. (Do you remember in this forum the photo of
that paratrooper ensign bearing camo smock, flag and M.42 helmet with
              this kind of camo cover?#27)PaoloM

Paolo, Thanks never thought of that . I will look at the inside of my cover.
Maybe you could show one of yours inside out or if you have one made like that.

Just to back up what Paolo stated I have added some pics of a helmet cover I bought about 20 years ago which may help. Also, love the motto scribed on the helmet cover front of your latest photo. Thanks Paolo for sharing.

Hi, i would like to ask, Are the helmet cover have size for difference size helmet? or it is one size fit all ! Thanks!!

                        Comment

There were generally 3 sizes (1,2 and 3) on those camo covers made according
                          to the rules of 1942.PaoloM

If you look closely at the last picture I posted, you will see a number 2 ink stamp on the inside of the helmet cover indicating the size.
