I suspect Army Intell/Abwehr involvement. He was all over the place with multiple units. The classified files would not be in the OKH papers. I have one file like this and he was sent on pre War KDF cruises all over Scandinavia and composed super detailed reports of Norwegian harbors and shipping.

I do have separate documents in the file regarding the Italian awards. I will scan and post those as well.
I will also scan the page regarding the "Kolonialorden" and perhaps you can make it out.

The first is the document regarding the "Ritterkreuz des Ordens der Krone von Italien". Presented in 1938. Heggenreiner had served in Spain at the time.
