Here's my Med version, unlined as discussed. The two continental versions I showed earlier have satin linings. The eagle has been removed as has the leather strap for the oxygen mask. This one does has loops for badges, though, which is cool.

With respect to the late war leather pants, the removal of the front thigh pockets was not uncommon, since it did decrease the bulk, and not a lot of survival gear was needed flying air defense over Germany.

My south front channel trousers from post #43 have white Ri-Ri plastic zippers for the pockets and Rheinnadel as main zipper and leg zippers. Here are some pics:

          Have a nice evening,

Wow this thread has turned into a better reference than I could ever have imagined. A big thank you to everyone for their input.

Harry welcome back. I've tried recently to view many of your old posts on flightgear threads for reference, but most of your pictures have been deleted. Thanks for sharing these with us.

I must say I am very impressed by the knowledge from you guys and the fantastic examples you've shown.

Just curious, how have you guys determined over time that the leather pants have had the pockets removed, and were not just a version made without them?

By the way Jos, just how rare are those flare leg straps? And how rare are the flares? I've thought they are a very interesting accessory ever since seeing pictures of your collection a few years ago.

You guys are making me seek an entirely different path in collecting. Now to get the heated blue cloth two piece suit with royal purple collar and a blue unheated channel jacket and pants.!
