I would love to see the badge on your second tunic. Is it bullion like the first one?

You definitely say "NO" and that's it
I have no problem at all with the fact that it might be a made up one but tell me with prove why it's a made up one ! That's what I would like to hear.
You can understand why Richard has send it back to Paul Jarvis ? OK, tell me why ? and most of all : would you wait 4 DAYS !!! before sending it back.
I ask a lot of questions here and the only thing you can do is jamming about the fact that the eagle is not on the correct (textbook) place and the loops are too far to the right . That's all you're saying !!! What about my other remarks. For example the fact that they were not allowed to fly with metal badges on their flightblouses ?
In my opinion 80% were not altered but were used this way and were far from textbook examples.

...and the question about flying with metal badges on jackets.., yes, they did..

GD/LW,
Slow down a little bit.
Jos just doesn't like the layout of the eagle and badges, based on what he has come to expect. That's all. No big deal, as I think we all know there are variances. His opinion, however, is perfectly valid.
Jos is right about flying with badges. It was done all the time and there are plenty of photos of aircrew entering or exiting an aircraft wearing their badges. There are also a number of legitimate crash-excavated badges.
The eagle's backing is a bit unusual for this style of tunic, but is not disqualifying to me personally. It's my personal opinion that insignia on worn tunics, especially if worn occasionally with flight gear, was replaced from time to time. In the case of your tunic, I have already said that if the insignia was replaced, it's my opinion that it was put back in the original locations.
Jos does a very good job as Moderator and is a longtime and highly-respected Luft collector. While I may not agree with him 100% all the time (as I'm sure he does not agree with me), I certainly pay heed to what he says and give his opinions very great weight.
Just accept the fact that there are disagreements about this tunic's insignia and badge placement. None of that changes the fact that this is a real tunic with real insignia and, as Bob Hritz noted, these are increasingly difficult to find. Be glad you have one, as there are many who wish they did.
Best,
Leroy

Everybody on this forum's opinion has some weight. It is up to the opinion seeker to determine how much weight he wants to attribute to each individuals opinions and then based on that makes a decision on the item he was enquiring about. If you take the responsibility to post an item, you also have to take the responsibility to analyse the different opinions and come to a conclusion yourself. No-one is obliged to justify his opinion. In this hobby we as individuals collect what we are comfortable with. If you are comfortable with this piece that is all that matters. You have been given sound opinions on each side of the fence. Quit trying to force everyone who does not see eye to eye with you on this piece come around to your point of view. This is a discussion forum, if everyone always had the same opinions there would be no need for a forum such as this.
As far as metal badges worn on flights are concerned, they were worn regularly! To say otherwise is completely foolish.
best wishes,
