Who here collects communication equipment

First, I would like to discover who collects communication equipment. Please let me know who you are, and what you've got?

    Thanks,

    Yuri

Well, I have a telephone, does that count

But really, I know very little about this topic and I look forward to some informative threads, I'm sure we'll have loads of questions.

      Gr******252;******223; Gott Funkerkameraden,

My primary interest is Gebirgsj******228;ger, but I have a field phone, two Wehrmachtrundfunkempfangers....a NORA and a PHILIPS, would like to eventually get a field radio transmitter/receiver and I have headphones, microphone, and a morse key. Also have the most basic comm gear....signal flags!

        Seba,

That definitely counts. There were several variations of the field telephone that were manufactured, and these phones could be used in several configurations. So definitely post your phone, and I will add some additional information on its use.

          Definitely definitely post your items!!!

The field of Third Reich communication equipment is enormous and complex, so the more items we see, the more educated we become.

          Thanks, and welcome!!

          Yuri

Well, i'm very interested in communications equipment altough it's not my primary militaria interest. I have an amateur radio license and i work in the telecom sector.

I only have one German ww2 radio and that's a DKE volksempfänger.
I made thread about the 'repair' some time ago.
I'd love to find some wehrmacht equipment but it seems difficult to find quality over here.

              Best regards,
              Kris

                Kris,

Please post the images of your DKE. This was a very powerful propaganda tool of the Third Reich, and the first time that technology was used to such a large scale to reach the entire population of a country. This was the "Volkswagen" of radio receivers.

I will start a DKe thread with some new pictures.

Hello Yuri:
As a former radar systems engineer I have among my odd item collection a WW2 US Navy Mark-22 Gunnery Radar set - it can be seen in the 1959 Hollywood pink submarine film "Operation Petticoat" near the end when the nurses bra is lifted aboard the destroyer and the captain says "The Japanese have nothing like this!" No kidding!

OldFlagsWanted

Now that's the kind of stuff we want to see! Please post pictures of this system and also describe it to us.

                      Thanks,

Hi Yuri, I don't collect wireless sets as such. But as my 1942 Ford GPW Airborne Jeep was "fitted for wireless" I do have a British "WS62" and a few accessories. I will take some pics this weekend and post them on the forum.

I do have a single German headset and mike, plus the Panzer headset and throat mikes.

                        Cheers, Ade.

I am afflicted! I have the usual field phones and accessories, plus a complete Torn Fu g, and a complete except for the antenna Torn Fu d2.

                          Cheers!

Unfortunately my WW2 USN Radar has been stored away
for the last couple decades with my Norden Bombsight and
Mark-6 Sea Mine - again no kidding! But at least here is the
Operation Petticoat bra sceen - my Radar can be seen just
before this shot at the end of the movie!
