    Thanks, John.

I already try to get higher resolution pics from the seller.

I looked at it today on my computer at work, and it looked much better to me. It definitely needs a hands-on inspection to remove all doubts, either way.

        New pics from the liner.

The seller obviously is not very talented to make close-up photos, but at least he tries hard ...

BTW: Worked over with photo shop, so don't trust the colours.

              Hi,
always very hard from pics, (maybe too much).....but it could have a chance......(IMHO)
Now.....or you have the possibility to check it in hand (fairs, shop, or cause you're nearby the seller) or I think that, to have an ultimate opinion, and if you can trust the seller, the only thing to do is to buy it with the written possibility to send it back within an agreed period for any reasons.......
If you have not these written conditions and/or don't know and/or trust the seller.....
......I'd leave it where it is......too much money involved......
              of course IMHO
              All my best
              Giorgio

I do not know the seller, first contact, I am in Europe and he is overseas ...
and I am not sure if I could really determine better if it is dyed or not when I have it in hands as I rely only on photos of the inside of dyed caps. I have few practical experience with this sort of headgear ...

I hoped that someone could look at the pics and says: "Oh, typical traces from dye, don't buy it!" or (better) "Oh, typical traces from wear and not from dye, buy it!"

At least the cap and the insignia seem original.

By the way, we talk over 600 Euros here. Cheap for a real HG cap, much too expensive for a fake one.

....mmmhhh..... a very very low price for an original untouched one....I don't know....

As I said. But much too high for a fake ...

I would not discount the originality of this cap due to the bluish black tint. I had an example that also showed this characteristic and this has been noted with black contract LW wraps also.

As for another example here's one I've had for many years.

                          @ Mike:

Thank You very much for looking! I just asked the seller for a last set of pics of the inside, than I will decide.

                          @ Richard:

Thank You, too, for posting the pic of Your cap. Very nice with the soutache!

The last three pics came in good enough, I didn't photoshopped them for more contrast or sharpness.

For me the liner do not look like if the cap was dyed black in some later phase of its life. Am I wrong?

Looks fine to me, I see no major problems
