Interesting thread. Nice photo of Brando from the Young Lions. There is a sequence in the movie where he is in an apartment with his female friend and he is wearing his peaked cap. First the cap is complete, then in a following scene the chin cord is missing.

The infamous goggles that Rommel wore in N. Africa were actually British. Like much of the Africacorps equipment, he found them inside a captured British staff vehicle.

Since this is a British film, it would be pretty embarrassing if they didn't get the correct British goggles on Rommel's character.
Many of the uniforms were originals. Good uniforms, poor movie though.

The Counterfeit Traitor 1962 WILLIAM Holden is a very good movie that IMHO has lots and lots of period items in use and was shot in Europe...BILLBERT

The officer's uniforms in Valkyrie were pretty good. But if you look closely, all of the breast eagles, silver field grade or gold general grade were exactly the same. Individually, they could pass muster. But taken as a whole, they are obviously fake.

The visor caps weren't bad either, but the piping joins were overlapped instead of butted. Many of the helmets were poor fakes.

Don't get me started on the Berghof (inside or out) . . .
