Here is "the ugly", Erich von Stroheim as Rommel in "5 Graves to Cairo"

    Hi Chris,

the shimmer from the Luftwaffe uniform's of Curd Jurgens is superb in Des Teufel General. The luftwaffe ministry scene is amazing as welll. What did you think about the SD making that fresh vinyl spy recording?

5 graves is one of my favourite war films, forgetting the uniforms. The club footed waiter disguise and the changing fortunes for the hotel's owner and his struggles with who his masters are makes for an interesting flick.

The Film " Decision Before Dawn " Was Produced In Germany In The Mid 1950's It Was Filmed Among The Many Areas Of Rubble Still Remaining At That Time. All Of The Uniforms In That Film Appear To Have Been Original.
I Also Recall Brando's Changing Visor Cap. It Seems As Though They Had Some Continuity Problems On That Film. In A Scene Where Brando Is Going To Visit His Commanding Officer's Wife, He Is Wearing An Iron Cross First Class And An Infantry Sturmabzeichen On His Tunic When Entering Her Building. Once In Her Apartment, He Is Now Wearing The General Assault Badge. When Leaving The Building, The Infantry Badge Is Restored..

Odessa File...another I haven't seen in years, and those uniforms were very good for the time.

              How about AH meeting Indy?:

This was a good movie, but the uniforms average at best--"The McKenzie Break (1971). It was bascically a reverse of the Great Escape.:

Jody, I knew I could count on you for some additions to the thread!

Here is the only SS-Mann to play an SS-man: Hardy Kruger in "A Bridge Too Far" (he was a NAPOLA grad and served with the 38th SS Nibelungen at the end of the war):

Uniforms in movies don't get any more real than this: "Kopf Hoch, Johannes" (1941):
