The Grand Cross is a Souval while the Knight's Cross appears to be the type made in England which often is marked with an L/17.....

I beleive that Souvals GK was a dipping ring, the GK on the photo posted, is not a dipping ring, as I have the original photo's I can zoom in and clarify that.

Many thanks for giving all of us the opportunity to gander at your hat. The close-up of the wreath is just spectacular, as is the entire hat.
