    The Hermann Goering Visor

I mean THE Hermann Goering! These pics were posted on the forum elsewhere, and are from the Imperial War Museum (allegedly). Anyone have additional pics of this grouping?

      Looks like replicas to me.

I agree, the cap is wrong. Look at the piping. It is neither cello nor bullion. It is like a cheap plated material.

Well for one, the wreath is not at all like the wreath on a Reichsmarschall cap, its the most common thing the replicators of this hat always get wrong. But I'm not sure they are trying to fool anyone. I also believe the collar tabs are reproductions. This uniform is in an English museum, if I remember correctly, but I don't think its in the IWM.

The Grand Cross is a Souval while the Knight's Cross appears to be the type made in England which often is marked with an L/17.....

Maybe they had the real deal at one time but some unscrupulous curator swapped it our for a fake.

This 'type' of cap (for whatever reason) was always featured in shows put on by Joe Buffer....

Joe (was) a local promoter who hustled shows in CA and AZ and who allegedly was the ONLY non German HONOR member of SS allowed to attend re-unions etc etc..

Lots of PROMO but lacking fact!!
                Regards,

The IWM has a tunic attributed to Göring, but this one ain't it! I have a pic somewhere buthe low light and glass played hell with my digital. I'll see if I can scrounge it up.

                    The whole set-up is junk.

Although a different version, THIS is what a real Goering cap looks like:

                          The wreath certainly appears correct.

The Hermann Goering display is at the RAF Museum Hendon.
