Officer's visors? Only officer's visors?
If Andi is right on the 100K WSS force in ca. 1940, I suggest that the officer ratio was about 1:25 or perhaps 1:30 - perhaps some 4,000 men.
Dilute this by Arty, say 10% for the whole, and you have some 400 Arty officers. How many would have spent the money for a personalized cap, and how many of these coud have survived?
Do the same math for the EMs, and consider their likely humble circumstances-surely a small fraction would have ordered these custom caps, and again, how many could have survived?
In total, for sure, less than 100, and most probably less than 50.
