My panzer M43 cap for opinions

Without making an absolute up or down on this cap, I just find it unusual
that the color of the stitching is so light in color.
I would have expected a black or at least a much darker thread used in construction.
That said, in war, you use what you have and that might have been the only thread available.

I suspect you are correct and it looks a lot different and much better in reality, aesthetically better I mean.
So I'm curious why you posted these particular photos?
To put it another way, would you post really ugly selfies on facebook and expect everyone to like how you look?
I would have thought that because you cleaned the cap, you would now want to capture it in the best possible way. I'm sorry to say that your photos don't do that at all.
Not trying to be rude here, just trying to be helpful.

Phone cameras are really good these days but you have to think about the light and the background, especially with black fabric which is difficult to capture.
Shoot with the natural light shinning on your back, never into the light and choose a background that's not bright like a white wall for example because that will make the object too dark to see any detail (like the ones above). If you don't have a tripod, place the camera on something to keep it steady so the shot will be in focus.

Have you put a black light over it to since it was washed to see if the stitching or white of the roundel now glow like a light bulb ?

The laundry staff tell me their dry cleaning agent doesn't contain any additives, but it's inevitable that some wool would be washed off, which would make the exterior a little different. In addition, the staff confirmed that the cap is originally black, because each re-dyeing fabric would return to its original color by their washing method.Last edited by richthofen_117; 03-12-2020, 02:16 AM.

Hi all, I appreciate your comments and thanks to all for taking the time. Here're some new photos taken by Photographer today in daylight. Maybe the cap is still "ugly" since it was well worn and has been washed.
If the cap is indeed a fake, it should be reproduced before the 70's, as the fabric is really old, not like some modern fakes I've ever seen.
After this, I would like to tell all collectors, do not try to dry clean any cloth items no matter they're original or not.
