I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.

Thanks, do you´ve got any idea which halftrack?
          German? Russian? American?
I found it on the easternfront.

It looks allot like the raupenschlepper ost tracks, but there are diferrences.

Odd lack of guide horns too. Would they have been bolted on through the holes either side?

                  track

                  Hi
I haven't ID' it yet but my hunch is that it comes from one of those Russian tracked Tractors. in any case not from a German halftrack

is the track smooth or is it possible the guide horn was cut off?

                  ciao

                    Hi Rick,

What is the status of the track information?

I am wondering if this really is a track link at all. It has no guide horn (unless it was a two-link setup like an Elefant, with a guide-horn link then a flat link) and it has no proper place for the drive sprocket to engage. Usually the sprocket would engage into a rectangular hole or gap at the side of the link, ensuring a good fit over the sprocket tooth no matter which way the track is running. The only available place to drive against here is the rear of the outer hinges and only really in one direction.

                        strange track

                        hi

you don't need a sprocket to drive the tracks......remember the T 34 or BT tanks
they used the guidehorns of the tracks to get it in motion. The sprocket didn't have teeth but had connecting bars

                        ciao

Hi, Yesterday I found this nice thread and because I am also a little panzer fan, decided to show also My stuff. I have also a lot parts that still need identification so maybe later you can help me. I´m not so wealthy man that I could to afford buy parts on ebay, so almost all on those pictures are My self digs from last two years.

Lets start with Sdkfz 251 Ausf. D

                              Biger parts:

                              Rests of gearbox:

                              Inner side panel:

                              Other stuff:

                              Some track links:

Can somebody identify two pieces on top ?
