            Tank III Parts ?

I need help to identificate some Parts we found in the woods. I think these parts come from inside. Maybe steering-,brake- or gear linkage? The curved linkage, i think is original curved, not from demolition or destroyed.

            <a href="http://s726.photobucket.com/albums/ww270/Kradschuetze/Panzer%20III%20Parts/?action=view&amp;current=CIMG3158.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/ww270/Kradschuetze/Panzer%20III%20Parts/CIMG3158.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Part of Gear Box Panzer III

Is this a part of the machine or the transmission of Panzer III. I found it at the same place. But it looks so smal.

Very grim present I must say: left T-34 hatch and StuG hatch were still locked when vehicle exploded. It means that probably somebody died under this pieces of metal.

Yes, It can be. But this kind of eqipment is made for killing people. I think that most of parts in this thread, are from machinery that killed more than one person. This is sad, but it is history and maybe we are able learn from it.

Roman raises a point I have pondered many times. I collect Panzer track links, if you come to my house you'll find them propped up in various places. On my front-room hearth you can chart the development of the German tank from the tiny Panzer I link up through to the Tiger. (You have to go out into the hall to look at the Elefant and King Tiger, they're just too huge to display with the others!). They exist in my house as a result of the efforts of a thoroughly despicable and appalling regime - yet one that harnessed the power of Germany's history of engineering precision to produce weapons of great power and even great beauty. They also exist in my house because, in most cases, the vehicles they belonged to - and their crews -perished in some of the most punishing - and from the Russian point of view, vengeful - fighting of the war.

It's a dichotomy that both my girlfriend and I appreciate but cannot fully explain. These pieces of cast steel that look like works of modern art, with their corroded and shrapnel scarred faces, carry a frightful history of a struggle epitomised by technological evolution in the art of killing.

It's a sobering thought that probably fundamentally comes down to "We must never forget".
