Really?

..compared with the larger "Tinnie" version that i believe to be NOT a tinnie per se, but an actual version of the Gau Ehrenzeichen."
ps: if you mix IE with EI, it sounds completely different. Gottleib .. would be pronounced Got-lie-b ... a subliminal fact maybe? (most know though)
Call it a Tinnie or Honour badge its a 1925-1935 Hoffstatter badge, I agree with Mr.Gottleibs view.
Of course you do.
IMO the damage done by Gottlieb's work on Gau Badges will haunt this part of our hobby for years to come.
He and few others-like yourself- will argue that the common tinnie is in fact a Gau Honor Badge based on his assertion of "Observed numbers do not suggest a mass-produced commercial product sold by the thousands". That probably explains why at any given point in time there are about 50 of those available through various online dealers and military shows.
Usually the topic ends when one asks for a example of the actual tinnie from 1935 Essen Gautag- apparently there are none. But plenty of Gau Honor Badges.
It was the lowest and only three digit number badge that John had. He had a few four digit ones. I was bled dry in winning Heinz Lappe's #65537 30mm and his Ausweis. I had some personal attachment to me as I arranged a three way trade for John to acquire the Ausweis that I knew was in another collection to join his badge. And I found one of Lappe's 24mm badges on a German auction last year. The 25% commission + shipping was my last pint.
Just wondering if anyone has information about Anton Heigl who was awarded the GPB No.132? Clearly he was a Blood Order holder. The badge was purchased from an old HH event and did come with papers but it is all in German. If anyone has information about Anton Heigl or access to the DAL papers it would be appreciated. Some pics as posted previously to recap...
A very nice minty badge Mil but you can’t assume unless you know for sure that he was a BO holder due to his early membership number. Don’t forget this early number was from 1925 and after the reformation of the party.
