don't believe in groupings fellas, its bad for ya

On the other hand the mini is not what you might call 'usual' so perhaps the buyer didn't subscribe to 'if it was good enough for John, it is good enough for me' and believed instead in evaluating the item, not the story.
Just something to keep in mind next time you see a 'broken-up grouping'.
Oh, his Gauadler # was 366 for anyone following that sort of thing.
cheers

As knowledgeable and careful as John was, he made mistakes like the rest of us. Trusting blindly in any artifact as one supposedly coming from his collection and therefore being 'right' is IMO being 'financially reckless' as one of our members put it on another thread.
In any event, nothing aimed at you personally James- to be honest I wasn't even sure who coined the above phrase- I presume now it was you. My apologies if it offended you.
cheers

70890 now available here.
SS OFFICER GOLDEN PARTY BADGE AND COLLAR TAB AND ESSEN GAU HONOUR BADGE
SS Officer Paul Bielecki Party No.70890 SS No.12310.
Award is in moderatly worn condition and has a period upgrade screw back modification obviuosly the owners of these awards were very proud and the standard pins wear rather flimsy, this actual badge is featured in Angolias excellent reference "Fuhrer and Fatherland political and civil awards of the Third Reich" page 179.
Included is a research flie of over 65 pages which includes a photo of Bielecki actually wearing the award! Included in the lot is a machine woven 25.SS standarte collar tab complete with silk RZM SS label, this is exactly the type of tab as Bielecki would have worn as EM/NCO whilst serving in the ESSEN based Std.Interestingly Bielecki was not only a GPB holder he also earned the Gau Honour badge presumably ESSEN.
I would split the lot at 450 for the tab and 1150 for the GPB
(note: wonder why a Gau Essen honor badge is mentioned in the header ?)
The collar tab was not included in HH's Lot 8058:
Lot Nr. 8058
SS Untersturmführer Paul Bielecki - a Golden Party Badge of the NSDAP in 24 mm
Josef Fuess München produced heavily worn gilt Tombak with damaged inset silver-plated, enamelled party badge. Party member number "70890" on reverse. Period replacement of pin with screwback. Cf. Angolia, For Führer and Fatherland Political & Civil Awards of the Third Reich, p. 179. Collector prepared research folio included.
Condition: III Limit: 250 EURO 660 EURO

There was and is no attempt to make any deception, I am disappointed at your inference that this could be the case.
